# How to Reconnect Your SunPower App with SunStrong Connect (2026)

**Updated September 2026:** The mySunPower app is now **SunStrong Connect**. Below are the current steps to get your solar data back, plus what's free and what now costs extra.

First, the good news: your panels keep making power, and your SDG&E credits keep counting, whether or not the app shows any data. The app is only how you see it.

## How to reconnect your SunPower app in 3 steps

### 1. Download SunStrong Connect

Delete the old mySunPower app, then download **SunStrong Connect** from the Apple App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).

### 2. Reset your password

Open the app, tap **Forgot password** and enter the same email you used for the mySunPower app. Use the link in that email to set a new password and log in.

### 3. No data showing? Reconnect your Wi-Fi

Before you start, update the app and make sure you can log in. Turn on Airplane Mode, then turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth back on, so your phone doesn't switch to cellular data mid-setup.

1. **Restart the monitoring box (PVS).** Switch off the breaker labeled "PVS" or "monitoring" for at least 10 seconds, then back on. Wait about a minute for the green light.
2. **Stand within 6 feet of the box.** In the app, go to Profile › Wi-Fi settings and tap **Ready to Connect**.
3. Tap **Pair** when asked, then **Join** to connect to the temporary "SunPower#####" network.
4. Tap **Connect WiFi**, pick your home network, type your password (tap the eye icon to check it) and tap **Connect**. "Connecting…" can take several minutes.
5. At the success screen, turn Airplane Mode off, rejoin your home Wi-Fi and make sure every breaker is back on.
6. Check the app in about 15 minutes. Your data can take a day or two to fill in.

## What's free, and what costs extra

**Free app ($0) includes:**

- Live view of your solar production and home use
- Alerts when a device has a problem
- Battery settings (SunVault owners)
- Wi-Fi setup and system updates

**Premium ($99.99/yr or $9.99/mo) adds:**

- Your production history and trends over time: days, months and years
- Panel-by-panel detail, to spot a panel that's underperforming
- Performance reports and analytics

**Do you need Premium?** The free app shows whether your system is working today. Premium is for tracking history and each panel over time. Your SDG&E bill also shows what your solar sent to the grid each month.

## Keep it on Wi-Fi to keep it free

Free monitoring needs your home Wi-Fi (or a wired internet connection). SunStrong's free cellular connection ended July 8, 2025. Staying on cellular now costs $59.99/yr for solar only, or $149.99/yr with a battery. To check, look at your connection type in the app's Profile. If it says "Cellular" or "Unknown," follow the Wi-Fi steps above.

## Another option: Enphase monitoring

If your SunPower system was installed from mid-2019 to 2024, your microinverters were made by Enphase, and Enphase honors its 25-year warranty on them. An Enphase monitoring retrofit replaces the SunPower monitoring and gives Enphase direct visibility into your system, which can make future warranty claims easier. Systems installed before 2019 may use SolarBridge or other inverters, so check with your installer about your options.
