A solar broker helps you choose the right system and installer and get a fair price, without the pressure of a company selling only its own product. My Solar Lady is an independent broker in San Diego and Oahu. We don't install systems ourselves, and we only work with installers we've vetted. Is solar still worth it in San Diego under NEM 3.0? For many homes, yes, but the math changed. Under NEM 3.0, exported power earns far less than power you buy from SDG&E in the evening, so most new San Diego systems need the right size and often a battery to pay off well. We'll run the numbers from your own SDG&E bill. Is there still a federal solar tax credit in 2026? Not for homeowners who buy their system. The federal 30% credit ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025. We'll show you which incentives and financing options still apply to you. Do I need a battery with solar in San Diego? It isn't required, but under NEM 3.0 a battery usually adds real savings by storing daytime solar for the 4 to 9 pm peak. It also keeps your power on during outages and Public Safety Power Shutoffs. Are there battery rebates in San Diego? Yes, for some homes. If you're a San Diego Community Power (SDCP) customer in its service area, SDCP's Solar Battery Savings Program offers a rebate on a new battery plus a yearly payment for up to 10 years. We'll check your address and run your numbers either way. Does my roof need to be replaced before solar? Not always, but it's worth checking first. Solar panels last 25 years or more, so if your roof has less life left than that, it's usually cheaper to replace it before the panels go on than to remove and reinstall them later. We'll look at your roof's age and condition as part of your review. In San Diego, we can also quote a new roof and solar together, so you get one plan and one point of contact. I already have solar.
